Abstract EN

The western influence with its ideas and philosophies occupied a great and important zone in the modern Arabic critical field until our modern criticism became a copy of the western one.

Our Arab contemporary critics based their experiences and methodologies in light of western cultures .

This research attempted to illustrate the forms of this Arabic affectation by the European criticism and philosophies and recognizing the important reasons behind this affectation.

So, we selected Ghali Shukri, the critic, as an applicative model to study the affecting thought of the Arab critics who adopted western references to their cultures.

Our study was established on two topics ; the first dealt with the total western influence on the modern Arab criticism and the methods resulted in this inter-cultural process .

In the second topic, we dealt with the presences of the western criticism in the critical writings of Ghali Shukri.
