English Abstract
The present study studies a prominent part of Jordanian poetry، which is the political and social poetry of Haidar Mahmoud.
The study has examined the following issues: the political poetry of Haidar Mahmoud and the political issues have been discussed in his poetry and traditional personages are used and elided on current Jordanian and Arab reality.
Social poetry of Haidar Mahmoud and the most important social problems that he has tackled in his poetry such as: poverty، hollowness، ignorance and social hypocrisy.
The social personages، that Mahmoud used to describe this reality.
The study ends up with models of poetic diction of Haidar Mahmoud by giving two pieces of his poetry to show the beauty of diction on them.
