The study of energy consumption in the Gulf Arab states is one of the important considerations that examine the reality, causes and effects of utilization in the most important areas of production and consumption of energy in the world.

This study covers a period between 1965 and 2015.

In order to achieve the objective of the study, the research is divided into five axes: Firstly: The strategic importance of energy in the Gulf Arab states.

Secondly: The reality of energy consumption according to these countries.

Thirdly: The reality of energy consumption according to its sources.

Fourthly: The affecting factors on energy consumption in these countries.

Fifthly: The resulting effects from energy consumption in these Gulf States.

The study has found that the quantities of energy consumption in the Gulf Arab countries have doubled by 17 times during half a century due to a number of factors, including the richness of these countries in oil and gas reserves, the growing population, the growing phenomenon of incoming immigration, the cheap prices of energy backed by the governments of these countries, the transition to urbanization and civil society, the high rates of income as well as the impacts of extreme climate.

The result of these factors was the fact that the Gulf States occupy the world's top per capita energy consumption, resulting in economic, environmental and health impacts, which require these countries to consider seriously the solutions and policies to be applied to reduce risks of excessive energy consumption.
