Abstract EN

This paper investigates the economic and social development in Iraq, particularly education and health in light with the economic policies that adopted by some developing countries such as the UAE, Singapore and Malaysia.

However the study has analyzed the economic policies in Iraq, and focused on the lack of sustainability of economic reform in various sectors.

In addition, it tackled role of oil sector in financing the public budget.

The study confirmed that a high reliance on oil has led to weaken investment projects in general.

Therefore, sound economic policies must be geared to reduce the high contribution of oil sector through pursuing comprehensive planning that target enhancing the economic progress and activate non-oil sectors.
