This article is intended to examine the literature ascribed to 'Aisha bint Abi Bakr in relation to the political strife that culminated in the killing of the third caliph 'Uthman bin Affan and the following events.

It is intended to understand political role of 'Aisha by the literature.

To achieve this, the article employs historical as well as literary materials.

In addition to clarifying some critical facts concerning the women's literature early in Islam, the article emphasizes the importance of literary materials to obtain better understanding of historical events
