Study turns spotlight on the role of security media in shaping culture and security awareness within community.

Culture is our approach in dealing with things that helps us know ourselves as well as others.

The true meaning of culture can be manifested in the distinction between dynamics of abstract ideas and practice.

The study is important as it may contribute to the better understanding of media role in the promotion of culture and security awareness among all members of community besides strengthening partnership between public and security institutions in decision making to address all anti- social behaviors.

Therefore, it is incumbent upon security institutions to adopt a media strategy based on promoting security culture and deep understanding of the effect of mass media which have become nowadays crucial cultural tools that shape public opinion.

Study sums up with a number of recommendations, chief among them are the setting of mechanisms and strategic vision to employ informative media content to win community members trust in and support to security institutions
