Our study aimed to investigate effective antioxidant compounds from Penicillium sp.

Because of the side effects of synthetic antioxidant materials that used in storage foods .

In the present study the antioxidant activity of the Penicillium sp.

was evaluated by its ability to scavenge DPPH free radicals.

P.

citrinum crude extract exhibited high antioxidant activity ( 99.9% ), with volume 3μl, equivalent to ascorbic acid in the concentration 100μg/ml.

Also the crude extract of P.

paxilli showed high antioxidant activity 61.6% in concentration 100μg/ml.

We also estimated the total phenolic compounds and the result showed that the crude extracts were rich in phenolic content
