Characterized the state of Aleppo heavily exposed to diseases and epidemics , by virtue of its important trade , which make them vulnerable to the transmission of diseases it from coming forth from neighboring states , so it established the Department of quarantine at the center of the state in 1867 , and was affiliated to the Municipality , and was founded a branch in the district of Iskenderun Brigade Aleppo , being an open area by virtue of the presence of the port of Iskenderun in it, has been applied quarantine in the state of Aleppo in many years , because of the spread of epidemics , and was able to quarantine departments in the state to control these epidemics .

Included municipal departments state health clinics , found the doctor to inspect the patients , then established in the beginning of the nineties Alqrt nineteenth Health Commission for the state , which had belonged to the municipality in the center of the state , and was headed by Inspector health of the state , and included medical staff task attention to public health of the population.

As for the hospital have included the state of Aleppo two government hospitals , a military hospital , which has existed since the founding of the state in 1866 , and the Hospital strangers Hamidi which was founded in 1897 in the center of the state , and it has branches in the District of Urfa , and judicial Gaziantep and Iskenderun officers of the brigade of Aleppo , as well as the existence of Pharmacies governmental mission of providing free medicine to the poor.
