Abstract EN

This study sheds light on a figure who has his own role in the contemporary history of Yemen.

This figure is the Judge Abdul Rahman Al-aryani , whether before the Yemeni the Yemeni revolution in 26 September 1962 or after it.

he was one of the opposed figures to the political regime through his affiliation to the Yemeni liberal movement.

He also had his social and political status in Yemen because he belongs to a family who was famous in knowledge and law.

that is why, he was appointed in many positions before the revolution .

although he was one of the opposed characters to the political regime internally , yet he took advantage from being closer to the regime to know all its secrets.

However , after revolution , he refused the policy of taking revenge from the persons of the previous regime and invited for the patriotic reconciliation .

he also refused the external interference in the internal issues of Yemen from all countries .

this made his government faced many dilemmas .

during the period of his presidency , he was able to pass all these dilemmas through his openness and consultations with others as well as his role in ending the Yemeni civil war (1962-1970)with the royal supporters through integrating them in the military and political life .

he made several attempt to make a reconciliation with the south in order to unite Yemen.

These attempts faced many internal obstacles and external Arabic ones .

although he worked hard to satisfy all opposed parties , yet his government was collapsed because of the coup d'etat in 1974.
