Abstract EN

Early experiences in poetry writing reveal the main talents of a poet that would be manifested along his/her career.

It seems that some poems can display the general features of a poet’s works : the themes, the style, the syntactic structures, and the arrangemants.

By attempting to identify the modern characteristics of Abdelwahhab Elbiyati’s poems, we find that their traits are not distinct from the totality of the contemporary Arabic poetry; still, his poems give us deep insights into the development of free verse.

Indeed, his poetry has participated in furthering the modernisation of the Arabic poetic discourse.
