Abstract EN

Nagib Mahfouz, Egyptian writer and novelist including scholars and writers in literature who has much attention to the woman.

This author has provided many variety examples of the women in his works, such as wife woman, sister woman, lover woman and mother woman.

The purpose of this research is survey to how the reflection of mother’s image in Nagib Mahfouz literary works.

Mother has strong presence and important role in Mahfouz novels and stories and has great attention and respect in Mahfouz realistic literature and he has offered different types and varieties of mothers, both positive and negative examples as well as in his literary works such as strong mother who has iron will, corrupt and queen mother, good and worthy mother, illiterate and employee mother, selfish lover and perverse mother, the mother who indulgences in love and attention to her child, the mother who neglects of her duties and indulges in her feminine needs, intelligent and wise mother, faithful and traditional mother.

Nagib Mahfouz has gave to mother positive and effective role in his literary and artistic works and he drawn mother’s image highlight and bold in them.

he was greatly succeeded in portraying the Image and status of mother.

this author has portrayed feels, loves , compassions and sacrifices of mother in the finest and beautiful boards and art images in his realistic literature.
