Customs reform in Algeria based on the development of the customs administration, and simplifying customs procedures.
It’s goal is to speed up customs clearance operations, which is an indicator of achieving the goal of trade facilitation as a principal request for international organizations, especially WCO and WTO.It also aims to implement government policy, and maintain the primary source of financial resources of the state.
After many years, the efforts of Algeria continue to reform customs, focusing on the following three key issues: Trade facilitation and security, improve the customs tax collection, and the development of human resources and customs commitment.
These are more important in influencing the efficiency and effectiveness of customs work, regardless of other regulatory approaches.
It’s true that the customs services standards in Algeria with low levels, far from the requirements of the international rules, as well as regional levels.
But the customs administration has opportunities to carry on its functions in a better manner on their international borders.
