Abstract EN

Our current research theme is to provide insight on women with sexual dysfunction in Algerian society, where sex is still a taboo phenomenon.

Our goal is, among other things; support our previous findings regarding the lack of communication in the couple around the sexual question by identifying the proportion of representations in relation to these sexual dysfunctions.

Among the causes of the past: Educational taboos, sex education with religious rigor, social conformity with guilt pleasures of the body, a negative image of parental sexuality, imperfect development of sexual identification, emotional trauma often caused by sexual abuse may occur in childhood (harassment, touching, rape, incest).

All this is part of what has been internalized from early childhood through education, but also a misinterpretation of sexuality in Islam.

Thus our goal for this approach is to provide insight about Islamic sexual enculturation and its importance in the treatment of healthy sexual situations and difficulties that have been long neglected and even ignored because of the shame and ignorance dependent old false beliefs.

This enculturation becomes a vital necessity in that it educates the individual to acquire the most appropriate sex role inducing normal sexual behavior that can only be guaranteed by a realistic representation of sexuality.
