Abstract EN

This research work deals with the importance and status of the jihadists, called soldiers today, and their role in upholding the aims of Sharia (the Islamic law).

The most important purpose of this study is to link their institutional conduct to the Holy Qur'an, and to highlight the educational aspects pertinent to the issues of combat Islamic doctrine.

It addresses the distinguished methods of infusing faith and sound moral doctrine into the jihadists as revealed in the Holy Qur'an.

The history of jihad and its consequences in previous nations have been also reviewed.

The research also investigates the significance of examples mentioned in the Qur'an as an educational method.

The Qur'anic verses that instill in all Muslims the reliance on Allah Almighty during jihad and not on materialistic means have been studied, as these means have been originally created to be merely utilized, and not to be essential to life.

Furthermore, patience is the most valued virtue of a jihadist’s character, which Allah encourages in many verses that address the subject of war and combat.

The doctrinal issues that have been studied in this research are associated with the discipline of Oneness of Allah's Worship.

It elaborates on the importance for Jihadists to understand the true purpose of jihad and to be sincere in their intentions, and that the essence of Islam is to be wholeheartedly devoted to Allah and follow the teachings of his Prophet (pbuh).

The researcher also states that a jihadist worships Allah in Jihad by exerting feelings of hope and fear, relying on Allah in all his affairs, actions, attacks and retreats.

The researcher stresses the fact that the first people who will set ablaze in Hell on the Day of Judgment are “the jihadists in the cause of Allah” who fight only to reap worldly gains.

In the subjects tackled in this study, the researcher cites Qur'anic verses that discuss the laws of jihad in the cause of Allah, and stories of jihadists in earlier nations and during the era of the Prophet (pbuh) and his companions in their battles.
