Abstract EN

Bathrooms are considered one of the important Islamic service facilities due to the necessity of health condition of the people in their daily life.

Moreover, they represent a symbol of civilization and prosperity of Islamic society.

Hence, Muslims paid much attention to these kinds of services on the ground of that they are related to Islam, which shows its people the importance of keeping clean to remain a healthy and spotless community.

As a result, the bathrooms illustrated one of the landmarks found in cities and towns of Muslim communities through Islamic history.

Hence, they were often built in the city and market centers to be easy for people to use them in their daily life.

This study aims to show and identify the main public bathrooms of Ayyubid State in Egypt between 1171 and 1250 A.D (567- 648 A.H).

It also attempts to shed light on the style of bathrooms in comparison with previous historical studies, their kinds, and how they served people of Ayyubid State in Egypt.

It also attempts to depict how Ayyubid family run and altered these bathrooms during this period under this study.
