Abstract EN

This study aimed at finding out the quality of life (QOL) among the elderly people in the Jordanian society, by focusing on eight fields: physical health, social relationships, independence and control over life and freedom, home and neighbors, psychological and emotional well-being, financial circumstances, leisure and activities, and finally the overall look towards life in general.

The study involved a sample of three hundreds and forty-two elderly males and females aged sixty-five years and more, all residing in Irbid district.

The study revealed the following: an increase in the standard of living for the individuals of the sample regarding home, neighbor’s, social relationships, and a medium average of life quality in other fields.

It also showed the existence of statistic differences between life quality for the sample individuals and other variables such as: the relationships with sons, the relationships with friends, the level of satisfaction of life, healthy situation, and the direct responsible for carefulness.

This is all except for other variables which were mentioned in this study.
