Abstract EN

This research aims at studying the attitude of the Omani individuals towards polygamy depending on their different social, economic and demographic characteristics.

It also observes the most important changes in this pattern of marriage.

An electronic questionnaire was used as a main tool to collect data from the respondents who were about (920) Omani males and females aged (18-60) years.

The results show that marital status, gender and age of the respondents had an obvious effect on determining and shaping polygamy features in the Omani Society.

In contrast, the educational level and place of residency did not have any effects on the respondents' orientations of polygamy
