The Algerian legislature awake on briefing the domain of the exercise of the journalist functions by controls and frameworks , ensuring, on the one hand, the press freedom access to information easily and effortlessly, therefore, the right of the public to a free and purposeful media, and on the other hand, without prejudice to the individuals freedoms which are constitutionally and legally guaranteed under the pretext of freedom of opinion and expression, so, creating a balance between the right of the public to information and the journalist's right to express his opinion.
Both, the Information law and the Penal Code had devoted the rights of individuals in the face of the crimes committed by journalists during the course of their duties, especially for the offenses of libel, insult and attack on the privacy of individuals, or the crime of the non-deployment of reply or correction, when the information law had accorded fully section under this title.
There is no doubt that the Algerian legislature aims through criminalizing such acts to the moral protection of individuals of honor and consideration because it is related to the presence of literary and social security of individuals.
