Abstract EN

The generic aim of this study was to estimate the happiness rates and its association with well – being and religiosity.

A sample of 400 college students from four universities in Yemen was recruited.

They responded to (1) the Arabic Scale of Happiness, (2) well – being self – rating scales to assess physical health, mental health, happiness, and satisfaction with life, and (3) religiosity.

Results indicated that women obtained significantly high mean scores on the self – rating scales of physical health and religiosity than did their male counterparts.

All the Pearson correlations between the scales were significant and positive.

A principal component analysis retained one high – loaded factor in men and women separately and labeled "Well- being and religiosity".

It was concluded that those who consider themselves as happy reported higher religiosity
