أثر المساواة بين الجنسين في التعليم على النمو الاقتصادي في الجزائر و الأردن : دراسة تطبيقية للفترة (1980-2014)‎

Abstract EN

This study aims mainly at investigating the impact of the gender equality in education on the economic growth in Algeria and Jordan, using annual data covering the period from 1980 to 2014.

In order to achieve this objective, an econometric model has been designed based on the economic theories and the published researches, using data obtained from the World Bank's (WB) website.

T he results of the econometric analysis shows the existence of a significant positive impact of the gender equality in both primary and secondary education on the economic growth in Algeria and Jordan, and also the existence of a positive significant impact of both population growth and capital accumulation growth on the economic growth in Algeria and Jordan for the period (1980-2014).

I n light of the results, the study recommends the need to promote the gender equality in education because of its positive impact on the economic growth in Algeria and Jordan, and the need of working on the elimination of the discrimination and the gender gap in both the political field and in the participation in the labor market, as they are the two domains where the gender discrimination is most visible, It also recommends the importance of investigating the impact of the gender gap in the high education on the economic growth.
