Abstract EN

The study aimed to investigate the relationship between coping strategies and job satisfaction among psychologists working in health sectors in Saudi Arabia, as the study sought to identify the level of contribution to the coping strategies to job satisfactions among psychologist.

Furthermore, the researcher worked on declaring the relationship between coping strategies, job satisfaction and demographic and personal variables (i.e., gender, level of education, and years of experience) of psychologists.

However, this correlational study examined the relationship between coping strategies and job satisfaction among psychologists working in health sectors in Saudi Arabia.

In this study, a total of (n=385) psychologists responded to a survey to determine the relationship among different types of coping strategies according to a scale prepared by (Alshawi, 2010) and job satisfaction scale prepared by the researcher (Almoshawah, 2015).

Data were analyzed using correlational analysis along with one way ANOVA.

The findings indicated a significant correlation among coping strategies with positive factors of job satisfaction.

The results indicated that the coping strategies contributed to 17% of the total variance of human relations within the work system, 15% of the total variance of the conditions and work assignments, 14% of the total variance of self-growth job satisfaction, and 12% of the total variance of rewards and promotions.

The results showed no significant differences between the psychologist gender (a=0,05) on the scale of coping strategies, while the psychologist's years of experience and level of education were correlated with coping strategies.

Moreover, the results showed no significant differences between the psychologist's gender, level of education and years of experience (a=0,05) on the scale of job satisfaction.

Finally, the study concluded with a number of recommendations and suggestions for future research for psychologists in Saudi Arabia.
