If the phonological pause is considered by the majority of scholars as a break of sound and a rest for the speaker; it is then taken as a harmonic and singing element according to the prosodic linguists, due to the fact that it is the most suitable pause for the poetry.

Therefore, the aspects of the pause diversify relatively to the rhymes, and they are usually mandatory prosodic stops whose purpose is to authorise the end of a rhyming assembly and the announcement of the beginning of a future rhyming group of: substitution, attachment and confirmation
