Abstract EN

This study aimed to investigate the concept of academic freedom by the faculty members in some Jordanian Universities in the north region as (yarmouk university, Al Balqa University and ajloun national university).

In order to achieve the goals of the study a research tool was developed consist of (35) items distributed into four dimensions validity and reliability ensured to the research tool to be valid for its Amies.

The tool applied on a random sample of the faculty members consist of (288).

To collect the data information.

and the data analyzed through the computer according the spss system in light of answering the research questions the faculty members perceived (33) items from the tool with moderate degree, which is equal (94.29%) percentage from the tool items.

and perceived two items with high degree , which is equal (5.71%) percentage the study results showed the following .

There were statistical significant differences at the level of (α=0.05) due to academic rank among the faculty members in the academic freedom concept to the favor of full professor rank comparative of other ranks.

and statistical significant differences at the level of (α=0.05) due to kind of university variable in favor of government university comparative to the national , and due to gender variable in favor of male comparative to female .

There were no statistical significant at the level of (α=0.05) among the faculty members in the concept of academic freedom due to the university in which the faculty member graduated of some suggested for improvement the practicing of the academic freedom concept by the faculty members.
