Abstract EN

This paper aims to evaluate the legality of the scope of insurance cover in consolidated policy for compulsory vehicle insurance within the Saudi law.

As far as dangers are concerned, some are covered in the insurance policy and others are exempt either due to personal exemption or due to the nature of the danger.

Each type of danger will be dealt within a separate section.

Upon consulting the relevant law, one can say that: all dangers are to be subject to insurance coverage in cases of a traffic accident; except in two cases; first, if there is no valid insurance policy at all and; second; if the driver does not have a driving license.

Having said so, this has allowed the insurer to seek reimbursement from the insured party if they have agreed on this in the insurance contract; which seems to raise some illegality.
