Abstract EN

This study aims at exploring the relationship between internet use and social behaviors among Yarmouk University students.

A random sample of 650 students from Yarmouk University responded to a valid and reliable questionnaire.

Results of the study indicated that there is a significant difference between the duration of the internet use and the social behaviors for the three dimensions of the instrument (isolation, study negligence and tendencies to violence) in favor of excessive internet usage.

Results also indicated that there is a significant relationship between the duration of internet use and the social communication in favor of normal internet usage.

In addition results indicated that there is a significant relationship between duration of internet use and gender in regard to (academic neglect and violence) in favor of males.

Further results indicated that there is a significant relationship between gender and social communication in favor of female students.

Besides that the results showed that there is a significant difference between faculties' variable and tendencies to violence in favor of humanitarian faculties.

Based on the results it recommended to do more research on different Jordanian Universities
