Abstract EN

This study aims to submit the issue of the diversity and the disagreement in the naming of the detective novel through dealing with its various names and classifications to clarify the difference between these terms.

In this work, we will attempt to put a summary to each type and compare at the same time between them to come out with the typical or perfect term.

This work also attempts to search for the major distinctive characteristics of this kind of novels which is the crime, the detective, the victim, and the killer.

Moreover, should the previous elements exist all together or each one alone in the detective story?
