Abstract EN

The study tackled the role and the status of the women in society by studying the role of microfinance in activating women participation in small enterprises.

The problem of the study can be summed up in the following question: What is the role of microfinance in activating women participation in the small enterprises? The study assumed that there is a statistically significant relationship between the size of microfinance and the percentage of women participation in small enterprises.

The study adopted the descriptive and statistical methods to analyze the study data, as well as to verify or reject its hypotheses ; and the historical method to review the theoretical framework and the previous studies.

The study main findings indicated the existence of a positive relationship between the size of microfinance and the participation of women in small enterprises.

The study main recommendations include the provision of basic services and the infrastructure of water and transport, since they are essential for the establishment of small and large enterprises ; besides encouraging women to invest in small enterprises by facilitating licensing procedures for new projects.
