Abstract EN

This study aimed at examining the economic impact of globalization on developing countries, as well as exploring how these countries can deal and mitigate the risk associated with these impacts.

The study depended on the historical and the descriptive analytical methods.

The study most important findings indicated that although the volume of international trade had increased during the period (2003-2013) coupled with the rise in the percentage of export and import in goods and services to the Gross National Product (constant price), but the share of developing countries in international trade remains constant throughout this period (18 % ) although the population of these developing countries represent around 75% of the total world population.

Moreover, despite the remarkable rise in the volume of foreign direct investment during the last three decades, nevertheless, advanced countries got the largest share from the flow of foreign direct investment (60 % ), while the developing countries share amounts to 40 % .

The study most important recommendations call for the developing countries to undertake certain policies in order to prepare the ground for the requirements of economic globalization, on the top of them developing their productive capacity, besides activating the role of institutions, supporting of supervisory institutions, and combating financial and administrative corruption.
