Abstract EN
At the end of the 60s, the Algerian agricultural production could assure more than 90% of the local needs while from the beginning the 80s it is not more enough than at the level of 30%.
This backward movement was the result of the political choices taken after the independence which forced to abandon the agriculture further to the politics of industrialization adopted since the three-year foreground 67-69.
At the beginning of 1990s, the massive opening to the world market favored the imports of products of all kinds (raw materials, semi-finished products, equipments and technology) to the detriment of the local products.
The food crisis which raged in 2007/2008 highlighted well the fragility of our economic and food politics which were not able to limit his effects on the population that by resorting to the financial support allowed by the only oil.
This situation emphasized the necessity of modernizing and of developing the Algerian agriculture as well as the food-processing industry, to strengthen the very fragile food safety of our country
