Abstract EN

The poet Abdullah Hamad al-Snani (1351-1409 / 1930-1988) was one of Onizah poets (a city located in Qassim Province).

And he was known as a poet after 1375/1955 in the central region of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

His dealing with press, and with social events was limited.

This of course makes his poetry to be few compared to his colleagues, although he was enjoying with an early poetic talent.

When Abdullah bin Idris's book: Najd contemporary Poets in 1380 AH / 1960 appeared , the poet al-Snani was among the poets of the book, although He did not attain the age of thirty.

After this great start, it seems that the practical and social life made the poet al-Snani give up to write poetry regularity to some extent.

Thus, we did not see him involved in any literary activities or publishing poems in newspapers and magazines although he was, in that time, writing poems that show his interaction and affection towards the private and public attitudes and events.

This research is considered to be the first study about the poet Abdullah Hamad al-Snani.

The research deals first with giving a study about the poet life and then moves to explain the topics of his poetry, his poetic language and his vision (theory) of poetry.

Finally, this study being a short is a first step and it is expected to be followed by more deeper and focused studies.
