The study handles the incentives and reasons behind the starting of the third Intifada, and the features that distinguish it from the previous two Intifadas during the first five months, between the 1st of October, 2015 (the date of Itamar assault as areaction against the buring alive of Dawabaheh family members by the settlers) and the 29th of Feb, 2016 (the date of Qalandia camp intrusion during which the martyr Iyad Sajdiah was killed).

The study talks about why it is named the third Intifada and gives some details about the most three important incentives and reasons behind it and that distinguishes it.

Those reasons are tied to the settlers frequent intrusions into Al-Aqsa Mosque, their attempts to divide it spatially and temporally between Jews and Muslims and their aggression against the Palestinians both in Jerusalem and the west bank.

It talks in some detail about the distinguishing features between this Intifada and the previous two Intifadas, represented in the sort of operations carried out, the age of the executers and the participation of all Palestinians in it, and it reveals the weakness of the Israeli security system.

It also points out the inhumanity of the occupation and how this contributes to instigating the Intifada
