Abstract EN

Visual language began to dominate the cultural scene during the second half of the 20th century, being an important factor that has the ability to influence, control,andevenmanipulateconsciousness,to the extent thatour age was labeled as "the image era", and contemporary society turned to "Society of the Spectacle"andourcivilizationbecame"the civilization of the image".

The ‘‘Image’’ is always a subject of philosophical analysis, since the old days of Plato.

Jean Baudrillard (1929 - 2007), the French philosopher, builds his philosophical doctrine on image analysis.

He tracks the Modernism phases of image development, though his main analytical focus is the image in the Globalization Era, for it constructs a parallel reality or a hyper-reality.

As Baudrillard describes it, hyper-reality contains actual reality in awaythat it becomes impossible to discern one from the other,and he presents various models to sustain his hypothesis, the most significant of whichis hisstudyof theGulfwarand9/11, this is inadditiontohis analysisof the relationship between the image and the commodity.

This paper aims to review and analyze Baudrillard thought, in order to identify the philosophical concepts on which his stance is based.

It shall also apply his analysis to some of the contemporary phenomena in art and politics.

The main hypothesis that this study shall seek to prove is that, despite the merits and accuracy of Baudrillard analysis, we eventually find ourselves in absolutenihilism.Thestudyusesthecritical analyticalapproach,inaddition to the comparative approach.
