In recent times, many scientists and Islamic scholars stress on the importance of gold standard and Gold Dinar as a medium of exchange.

Some countries, such as Malaysia took the initiative in coordination with some Islamic countries to put forward this idea and entered into force after the crisis in Southeast Asia in 1997.

This study, tries to clarify the notion of the gold dinar system and its mechanism as tool to settle the payments in bilateral or multilateral exchange between Islamic countries.
