This paper mve^iigaies, the existence of a ^Tahh long-run relaTionship between the demarid for money and iu determinants, i.e.
real income, infation rate and the exchange rate, in the Libyan economy.' using annua! data for the period 1970-2009.
By mea}u of the recently developed bounds testing approach to cointegration the results show that there :s a stable equilibrium relationship betu'een the money demand and its main determinants.
This result means the possibility of the usage of monetarytargeting policy as a monetary strategy in the Libyan economy.
