A distinctive aspect Of the personality Of Alhajaj bin Yusuf Althaqafi is the great rhetoric ability that featured in particular in the speeches narrated from the Arab heritage.

This was one of the most important tools that enabled him to have an active role in establishing the rule of the Umayyad, as well as the elimination of political and military opponents at that time.

When approaching these speeches, one finds that most of them are full of rhetorical elements which played an important role in extending speeches effectively, and had the ability to influence the recipients by raising the rhythm of the speech.

This resulted in three things: First, diversity of rhetoric, and aesthetic elements .The speeches contained predicative sentences and con- structional sentences, similes, metaphors and idiomatic expressions, as well as aesthetic enhancements either verbal or moral.

Second, the multiplicity of these elements as a result of their repetition by Alhajaj is reflected in the speches' stucture.

Third, the richness of these rhetorical elements supplied speeches with connotations and images which were important tools used by Alhajaj to show greatness, pride and ego all of which reinforce the prestige of the Umayyad dynasty.

This, in turn affected political and military opponents from Hejaz and Iraq by putting fear in them.

This paper aims at making a "rhetorical study" Of this event by referring to the rhetorical elements used in the powerful speeches of Alhajaj in three rhetorical axes: the first is "the eloquence of semantics", the second is the "eloquence Of the statement", and the third is "the eloquence Of the rhetorical aesthetics".
