The study aimed to identify the coating performance criteria of tenth grade class in Jordan on the test of deductive ability, and its relation to sex variable.

It also aimed to identify the relationship between the deductive thinking ability and the academic achievement of the students.

The researcher used the Jordanian copy of Acer’s Test.

The validity and reliability coefficients were confirmed.

Then the tool was applied to a sample of (184) students.

Means, Percentiles, Standard deviation, Z- Scores, and T-Scores were used for data processing.

The study also used the (T-test) in order to identify the average differences among the study groups.

Pearson correlation coefficient between students marks on the test and the level of academic achievement was computed.

Results didn't show statistically significant differences between the average of students performance on the test depending on the sex.

But there were a statistically significant relationship between the students marks on the test and their level of academic achievement.

Based on the results, the study made the following recommendations: There should be a need to pay attention to the development of types of reasoning thinking through the curriculum and to continue to develop the curriculum, and to be reconsidered wherever necessary every now and then.
