After a decade of changes in German energetic policy, the Fuckuchima accident in Japan in 2011 has been a real catalyzer for federal government to abandon its nuclear industry definitely.

German is initiating an “energetic transition” or (energiewende) based on renewable energies development.

This transition must be achieved without jeopardize the firms’ competitiveness but guarantee the power supply and in respect with its environmental pledges.

A lot of procedures have been adopted in order to eliminate fossil energies from its “mix energetic” in profit of renewable energies in the horizon of 2050.

This ambitious plan aims at reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.

In counterparty, this “energetic transition” faces several challenges and need to overlook different hindrances.

This paper tries to clarify the content and objectives of the (energiewende).

It endeavors to highlight its impacts on power industry and define the main challenges and opportunities linked to the expected changes of this “energetic transition”.
