Abstract EN

Algerian university education institutions are striving to improve their performance, in order to achieve the expected outputs demanded by the community, spite the fact that most of them have reached a stage of maturity in understanding the concept of quality management, still the implementation process is in infancy stage.

Benchmarking of performance indicators are considered as a means to help universities administrations to realize the reality of their academic position, in order to improve its quality from the position of the excellence universities.

But the problem is How identify the gaps between the desire and reality.

Hereby comes this study to discuss the case of Algerian universities education, with propose of a model to identify the gaps
