Abstract EN

The current study aimed to investigating the impact of the volume of imports, rate of inflation and interest rate on the exchange rate in Algeria during the period (1980-2016), using an econometric model covering the objectives and problem of the study, and using data obtained from the World Bank website.

The study finds that the volume of imports, the rate of inflation and the interest rate are negatively impact the exchange rate.

In the light of these results, it recommends the need to liberalize interest rates to attract more foreign capital because of its advantages which helps stabilize the exchange rate, the need to activate both the monetary and fiscal policies with their various tools to control the rate of inflation, and the balance of payment thus ensure the stability of the exchange rate
