Regional Studies Center was established in 1985 in the name of "Turkish Studies Center".

On September 2003, after the American occupation of Iraq, its name was as "Regional Studies Center" since it concerns with Iraq and its surrounding states.

During the past "32" years It has had strong radiation with adopt of think tanks and equal foundations in and out Iraq..

Regional Studies Center , during its life history, adhered to be associated with the community and state –owned centers and foundations related to its specialization-It presented consultation to decision makers and participated in Conferences and Symposiums.

Also it set Forth Studies and researches and everything that can be done especially establishing Scientific, research and consultative relations with similar centers and foundations in and out of Iraq.
