Abstract EN

The Institute of Arab Research and Studies performed its cultural role (research, teaching and publishing) in Baghdad for the period 1981-1989 successfully.

Its work was part of the general framework of the joint Arab cultural work supervised by the League of Arab States, which directed the opening of the institute in 1953 in Cairo and remained within it until 1980.

It was transferred to Baghdad after the agreement signed with the Government of Iraq, where provided facilities and funding and named Dr.

Nouri Hamoudi Qaisi as a director for it .It worked smoothly, successfully and committed to the rules of internal procedure and the organizational structure in terms of sections, objectives and method of operation.

It was retransferred to Cairo after the settlement of the Arab dispute with the Egyptian government in 1989, which had arisen after the visit of former Egyptian President Anwar Sadat to Israel.
