Abstract EN

A number of studies investigated the relationship between life satisfaction/mcar^nglessncss and psychological as well as social variables.

The present study ;iimcd to investigate the differences bctv.'£en those who have strong and weak life satisfaction in relation to clinical disorders (conduct disorder, sleep disorders, temperament disorder, somatic disorders, generalized anxiety disorder, substance abuse disorder) and psychosocial disorder (anger, aggression, and social adaptation).

The study also aimed to determine tlie prevalence rates of psychosocial disorder in university students with weak life satisfaction and to test the model of life satisfaction/meaninglessness in relation to clinical and psychosocial disorders in order to determine tlve direct and indirect effects between life meaninglessness and these variables.

The study sample included 174 students from both genders.

The study instruments included the life Meaninglessness Scale, The life Satisfaction Scale, and tl>e Adolescent Psychopathology Scale.

Results showed that there were statistically significant differences between the three levels of life satisfaction (not satisfied, some whal satisfied, and satisfied) on the clinical disorders scales (sleep disorders, temperament disorder, somatic disorders, generalized anxiety disorder, substance abuse disorder) excluding Conduct sc3lc, and on the psychosocial disorder (anger and social adaptation) excluding aggression in favour of those who arc dissatisfied.

Those who were high on life meaninglessness scale were high on the clinical disorders as well as psychosocial disorders as follows: GAD.

Using the mediation analysis it was shown that life satisfaction mediates the relationship life meaninglessness and clinical as well as psychosocial disorders in university students.
