Abstract EN

This article is about a famous poetry topic during the Almoravids era and which is “the war poetry”.

This era was characterized by the numerous battles and wars on the interior and exterior levels, since poetry represented a part of a nation as an important component of its culture which formalized its identity; it accompanied these wars and battles, and registered the combats and the invasions- this kind of poetry has become in addition to the historical sources- an important document which benefits the researchers in the field of the history of Islamic Maghreb.

We find that the Almoravids poets dealt with several topics related to war and conflict between the Almoravids and their enemies staring with putting on the alert the Arab tribes and using the tradition to encourage the soldiers, to describing the battles and the arms used.

Through some mentioned samples we recognize the historical value of this kind of poetry, since it is considered as a reflection of the military environment at era.
