Abstract EN

This paper discusses the contribution of Peter Newmark to translation didactics, with regard to the set of principles, suggestions, hints and guidelines drawn from his large experience in teaching translation.

It attempts also to shed light on the distinction between teaching translation and teaching about translation, without forgetting the importance of translation in languages teaching.
