This article revolves around the issue of critical awareness between heritage and modernity in the field of narratives criticism.

If heritage does not mean self-closing and stagnation to originality, modernity does not mean rebellion and disintegration in the culture of the other, ignoring the past and its sanctity.

What is the nature of the relationship between them? Is it a relationship of separation or connection? And what are the views of the critics in this regard? And how was the presence of this overlap of modernity and heritage clear and clear in the criticism in general and critical narrative in particular? These are the problems we seek to answer in this paper through the following three demands: - rooting the concepts of heritage and modernity Critics' attitude towards heritage and modernity in relation to criticizing narratives (the position of critic Mohamed Abdel Muttalib as a model) - Criticism of narrative between heritage and modernity.
