Abstract EN

The philosophy of religions is one of the stages through which the science of religions has developed as a methodological discipline.

In fact, Feuerbach is considered the true founder of materialism in philosophy that was the basis of change in modern philosophy.

His book entitled "The essence of Religion" is the grounding floor of this discipline; there were no modern philosopher that interested in the problem of religion like Feuerbach who emphasized, in all his works, that he has one aim and one subject, which is religion.

This study seeks to draw attention to the fact that Feuerbach has a main role in making an important qualitative leap in the philosophy of religion; he might be called the founder of this philosophy, after the matter of religion was determined by the philosophical metaphysics, which appeared throughout the history of philosophy as an alternative to religion.

However, Feuerbach has developed a cognitive, or value-based, subject called "philosophy of religion", which is today one of the cornerstones of the "Science of Religions
