Abstract EN

The views articulated by Edward Said in his book “Orientalism” on Karl Marx's relationship with Orientalism aroused a lot of feedback in either Western or Arab culture, especially amongst those who have embraced Marxism.

For instance, Sadek Djalal Eladam in his article entitled “Orientalism and Orientalism reversed” and Mahdi Amel, who dedicated a whole book to the discussion of Edward Said’s views about Karl Marx under the title : “Is the heart for the East and the mind for the West : Marx in Edward said Orientalism”.

The question is: were these interpretations impressionistic resulting from a fanatical and ideological thought that clung to the method Edward Said used in dealing with Karl Marx's idea about Britain, or they were just fair and objective interpretations?
