Terms cannot be dissociated from the society except for purposes of analysis, description or study.

Moreover, a report of exchange relates ceaselessly terms to society, they live as much as they are exploited by the society to communicate with.

This is why any study based on terms, should be conducted in their environment.

Otherwise, terms would be artificial and would not find their way to the use.

Thus, this paper deals with the question of considering the arab technical terms from a socio-terminological approach.

At first, we sought to investigate the place reserved to them in the linguistic policy adopted by the government.

Then, we focused on the matter of their use in an attempt to search for the verbal and non verbal factors and procedures that prevent them from being embedded and used in the society.

Finally, we treated the negative impact of this situation on spreading technical knowledge in the arab society in Arabic, as well as on making progress and sustainable development of Arabic and its speakers, depending on the existing interaction between society, knowledge and terms.

In fact, there is no life for knowledge and its terms without a society that produces and invests them, as there is no life for this society without knowledge in an era of the society of knowledge.
