Pleural effusions companied with many diseases and they could be considered as secondary diseases or complications for others.
In this work a study on 100 patients suffered from pleural effusions had been performed to determine the main cause of the effusion and the suitable management.
Congestive heart failure forms 37% of the causes of pleural effusions pneumonia 21% tuberculoses 19% pulmonary infraction and 1% for sarccoied, pancreatitis, renal impairment and hemorrhagic effusion after contused accident.
For patients who had malignant pleural effusions a pleurodesis procedure with tetracycline had been performed and the results were very good.
