Abstract EN

This study argues that changes in the international order and the new security challenges in the post-Cold War period have given Turkey a new strategic and security perspective, which has been reflected on its foreign policy.

Therefore, it is possible to refer to two basic stages that were the basis for the crystallization of Turkish foreign policy in the post-Cold War era: first, the stage in which the definitions of interests and threat perceptions have acquired an increasingly regional character for Turkey, secondly, the process in which Turkey has increasingly identified itself as an active regional power.

Accordingly, the study will examine the bases of Turkish foreign policy under different historical periods to find out the reasons for the transformation and transition in Turkish foreign policy
